Violins

Rod Ward violins are made from the very finest materials available, and constructed in the Old Italian manner. The wood comes from the same forests as used by the Old Masters, and the finish is done with varnishes that are made according to old contemporary recipes. The result is instruments that have beauty, great dynamic range and quality of tone and carrying power .

The workshop usually makes violins based on the instruments of Guarneri del Gesu, principally the Baron Heath of 1743, the Ysae of 1740, and the Heifitz of 1741. Other models of this, and other famous makers are available and be made on request.
